They sighed in slight (and only a slight!) frustration as yet another car conveniently took the parking spot they'd been eyeing.
"It's okay, we'll take another round," he says with booming confidence.
"Hello auntie, are you leaving or arriving?" the voice in her head screamed at the innocent woman carrying a huge white plastic bag. Okay, she clearly just arrived. Damn it. Don't give me false hope!
As they stared at every single person who happened to be standing in daylight with determination and hope, said people disappointingly let them down. "Maybe we should go to the other side, more chances there?" she questioned.
Rounding the corner, no sight of any empty spaces yet.
SUDDENLY! The sunlight created a star as it reflected off the windscreen of the lovely vehicle that was slowly reversing out of the most pivoted piece of land among increasingly desperate people like them.
"THERE!! GO GO GO!"
The little red car sped off towards the end of the rainbow.....
.....only to see another car waiting happily at the side.
"Uhm.. it's okay lah, we'll definitely get another spot. So many people heading this way.."
Riiiight. You're not fooling anyone with that fake tone of reassurance, honey.
As they went around the starting-to-become-extremely-familiar shoplots for the billionth time, finally!
"Someone's reversing!"
"Another car is there, though..."
"Maybe he's not taking that spot?"
"I think he --"
"OH MY GOSH, HE'S NOT!!
"YAYYYY!"
With a sudden increase in spirit, the little red car zoomed into the best yellow rectangle ever drawn on black tar road and out they stepped with huge smiles of accomplishment on their faces.
